Man Saves Three Lives with Kidney Donation

Ted Bartling, a rocket scientist from Utah saved three people’s lives.  Bartling, a 51 year old man served as a catalyst to a 6 person transplant.  For 15 years, he had been saying that he wanted to donate a kidney and finally he did at what seemed like the perfect time.
In university Hospital there were 3 people who needed a new kidney. Bartling donated his kidney to a woman named Brandy Jess who’s best friend was able to donate her kidney to a two year old boy named Beckham, whose father then chose to donate a kidney to a man named Juan Romero.  Six people were involved in this long chain of kidney transplants.  None of this would have happened if Bartling hadn’t randomly decided to donate a kidney.
I chose this article because it is so touching.  I really like the fact that there are still good people in the world. And this can be seen in the stunning selflessness displayed by Ted Bartling.

  1. I found an article that reports that Facebook has been instrumental in helping raise number of organ donors; that might be an interesting story.
