Hyundai Donating to Cancer

Today, on September 24, 2013 an article was published on the Bronx News 12 wesbite. In the Bronx, local Hyundai dealerships are conducting events and donating massive amounts of money to cancer foundations. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is the name of this organization. They donated $250,000 to the Children's Hospital at Montefiore. They donated specifically to this hospital for for the pediatric cancer unit toward research. This program collects money from many Hyundai dealerships from all over and donates it to this cause. Children who were being treated in this hospital were taken outside and put their colorful, painted hand prints all over new Hyundai vehicles.
I found this article to be extremely heart-warming. Often we find articles based on negative views and events. People today are attracted and drawn to this negativity resulting from crime and other negative-related articles. I think this is a great article for people to read because it shows that there are still great things going on in the world. There are still great people out there who are doing big things and making a difference in numerous ways. We must never forget all the positive things going on in the world, even during rough times.

  1. It is so nice to hear such great news instead of the constant negativity that seems to empower the news world. Cancer is a huge and rising issue in the United States today and it is amazing to hear that there are still people taking the time and money out of their lives to contribute to find a cure. If more people continue to take steps such as Hyundai did, we can become closer and closer to discovering a cure and saving millions of lives.
