A man who wishes to remain anonymous found a box full of Indian gems on the top of a French Glacier. They are being described as rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. The worth of them could be between $175,000 and $331,600. Nobody really knows how they got there, but there are a few theories of how they did. One theory is that they came from the 1950 crash of Air India flight 245, the "Malabar Princess". Another theory is that " the gems could have been aboard an Air India Boeing 707, the "Kanchenjunga," that crashed in nearly the same spot 16 years later."
I find this interesting because we were just learning about glaciers and this article popped up on the home page of CNN. I felt as though this related to our class in some way and is something you never really hear of.
