Military Outrage- Austin Sipple

A retired military man has come out to say that he was sexual assaulted by his drill sergeant three times while serving his country.  Jack Williams, now sixty-six, had been raped while sleeping when his drill sergeant would come in to his barracks at around three in the morning.  Williams, assuming he did not think he could talk to anybody about the situation, tried to commit suicide after the third raping.  Now fourty-seven years later, Jack Williams is physically and mentally from the ever so awful action of rape that seems too common these days.

I found this article extremely interesting.  The fact that rape was happening in the military is just outrageous but for it to be done man to man and by higher authority leaders is degrading to the military’s pride.  These sexual assaults in the military are supposedly ever too common and these are the people who are supposedly model citizens of the country.  No one would ever expect such an awful thing as rape to happen in the military because of the “men” that they make you in to but the fact that over hundreds of soldiers may be scared from things other than war while serving is disgusting.
