The activity we
did on Wednesday was very eye opening I didn’t expect it to impact me as much
as it did. Usually when I watch film clips in any kind of class they are a
snooze-fest and I can barely watch for the entire clip. However in this feature
it was interesting and really got me thinking about how everyone perceives
things differently; especially different countries. The filming of Iraq and how
the war and violence was perceived over there compared to over here was fascinating.
Like I never actually tried to consider what it must have been like for the
civilians living there to be in a constant state of fear as the war went on. I
was also shocked at the propaganda clips shown by the press it was weird seeing
the United States being portrayed in such a gruesome and abusive way. Americans
looked like the bad guys which led me to question what it must have been like
for the Iranians on 9-11. Where they as shocked and distraught as we are? Also
why do they how so much and gore on the news/tv?
I didn’t really
understand the last activity with the scoring process and what it meant.
However, the questions made me realize how much I have in life and how much I
take it for granted.
