Response to Control Room- Morgan Harkness

This film was not only informative but eye opening. I think what surprised me the most was the difference in the way they portrayed the news. It made the news on U.S. stations seem G rated. The Iraq news stations show very graphic images of people dying during war. It's not something that i'm use to seeing. It almost seemed wrong that they were showing these graphic images but thats only because our country isnt used to it.  If I learned something from this film its that there are two sides to war. It was interesting to hear the opinions of the U.S. and Iraq from both perspectives. I think one of the U.S. soldiers made a good point when saying that the Al Jazeera coverage only shows the U.S. soldiers in their show. They aren't showing what their people are doing to each other. I think seeing people's different perceptions of war was informative because its important to see both sides of whats going on.
