Safe, secure, and protected
Are words that describe grey wolves.
The national wildlife service declares
That they must be respected.
Recently, conflict has arisen.
Wolf numbers aren’t as low,
So many people say that those who kill them
Should not go to prison.
Now, the environmentalists are very scared.
They work together and fight
In hopes that the wolves’ lives will be spared.
Fascinating, Brielle. Where is this debate happening? Here? I had a student who hunted wolves. He knew everything about them and wrote a story from a wolf's perspective that was really compelling. What will happen if the wolf population sky-rockets?
