Morgan Gass - Coastal Flooding

The climate is changing rapidly by year,

And more storms are coming every which way.

People need to prepare or live in fear,

Damages are bound to come, they say.

The main issue is flooding of the coast,

Not only in America but worldwide.

Reaching one trillion dollars annually,

We will wish it was just a high tide.

We can’t ignore this for much longer.

We can reduce the cost,

By building levees taller and stronger,

So not as much will be lost.

  1. Morgan,
    I love the middle stanza:
"The main issue is flooding of the coast,
Not only in America but worldwide.
    Reaching one trillion dollars annually,
We will wish it was just a high tide."
Wow. It hits home. I had no idea this was the cost of flooding per year. Why wouldn't we start to care?
