When
you’re young, there’s nothing more fun when Christmas time comes around you get
to write a Christmas list to Santa telling him all the toys and games you
want. But for a little boy, all he
wanted was for kids to stop picking on his twin sister.
An eight
year old boy named Ryan Suffern wrote a letter to Santa, he said
"Dear Santa ... I wanted a (remote control) car
and helicopter, but I don't want that anymor. Kid at school are still picking
on Amber and its not fair," he wrote. "I prayed that they will stop
but god is bisy and needs your help."
That was just part of the letter.
The letter that brought his single mother to tears. Ryan has a twin sister named Amber. She is eight years old, weighs 140 pounds,
and has ADD along with other mood disorders. Every day at school, she is picked
on relentlessly by her classmates. Her
mother had no idea how bad the bullying had gotten. After reading the letter, Ryan’s mother
posted it on Facebook.
The article went on to talk about statistics about bullying. I think that this article is meant for
parents and teachers so they know how bad bullying can be for some kids. The reason I picked this article is because
it is so sad. The fact that children as
young as 8 years old are being subjected to such cruelty is sickening. I believe that schools, starting with elementary
should be making more efforts to stop bullying.
This article sure did pull on my heart strings! I think that shows the beauty of love within a family. Bullying has become way to popular, but its little things like this this that give us some hope.
