Of the 30 people injured, none appeared to be in critical condition. As of Saturday afternoon, 16 people were released from the hospital. Although the injuries were not life-threatening, 6 people were taken to the hospital in a helicopter. There was a total of 51 passengers on the bus that day, and several of them were trapped in the flipped over bus. They were eventually extracted by rescue workers.
The driver, who's name has not been released, was employed by Greyhound for over 15 years. A spokesperson for Greyhound said that the driver was not speeding. The most probable cause for this accident is that the driver lost control of the bus.
This article drew my attention because it is not everyday that you read about a bus randomly flipping over and injuring 30 people on an Interstate highway. It seemed to me like this was just a freak accident, and hopefully speeding or substances were not used by the driver.
