Wild Fire on the Boardwalk - Olivia Ludwig

Wild fire on the boardwalk

It has been reported that at about 4:30 pm on Thursday September 12, 2013, a fire had started at a local ice cream shop.  The fire spread all along the board walk and even some blocks going away from the beach.  As if this wasn’t enough of a tragedy, this board walk was just being rebuilt from Superstorm Sandy that occurred in October 2012.  The chief of police decided it best to take out some of the replacement planks so the fire did not spread any further.  The fire supposedly started in a Kohr Brothers ice cream shop, which to me is very ironic because it is now not just the atmosphere that the enterprises are ruining, but much more.  This is probably going to set back the town and taxpayer a lot since they just collected a great deal of money for the storms repairs.  This is mostly disheartening to the people who live there and have summer or beach homes because they keep enduring this heartbreak and stress of natural disaster to a place that’s supposed to be their happy place.
