Response to The Control Room Video

After watching the clip of this documentary, I was shocked at the images of the dead civilians and soldiers. I couldn't believe the vast difference between our side of the story and theirs as it was told to us via the media. Al Jazeera was not afraid to show their viewers the gruesome, horrible truth while our news stations decided to shelter us and only tell us things on a need to know basis.
On the other hand, I don't need to see the death and destruction with my own eyes to know it exists and that it's horrible. Only someone who wants to rub salt in a wound would want to see stuff like that broadcasted on national television. We as Americans can believe one of three things: agree that we had to go over there because it was the right thing, disagree and say we shouldn't be running around trying to fix other [people's problems when they don't ask for help, or we choose to be aware that it's happening but not have an opinion. I chose to be the third.
